Hi

My name is Chris Lyon and I have been the Head Chef at the Keswick Country House Hotel since Choice bought the hotel in November 2002.

I started working for Choice 22 years ago as a 17 year old Chef de Partie at the Cliffs working for Chef Douglas. Over the years I worked hard and progressed up the ranks until I gained the position of Sous Chef at the Cliffs. When the Head Chef’s role at the Keswick was offered, I grabbed it with both hands.

A new venture, fresh ideas and a new style of cooking was something I needed to adapt to quickly after 15 years at the Cliffs and the challenge was relished. We use local produce wherever possible and I’d like to think we offer a varied menu with something to suit everyone.

In our profession spare time is at a premium so to relax I like to travel around the Lakeland scenery on my motorcycle and just watch the world go by or tinker with cars, motorcycles or anything with an engine really.
